The mission comes before the model.

Mission-Led AI Labs is an advisory practice for organisations whose work is public: central government departments and agencies, and universities that teach or deploy AI.

We start from the job the institution already has. AI is useful only when it serves that job, when the risks are named, and when someone can explain the controls to a non-specialist. That is what mission-led means here.

What we will not do

We will not sell a tool as a strategy. We will not dress a vendor roadmap as governance. We will not treat ISO/IEC 42001 as a badge you buy. The standard is a management system. It only helps if the organisation can run it.

How we work

The free assessment is the front door. If the picture it gives is enough, you stop there. If you need a formal view against ISO/IEC 42001, the gap analysis is two weeks and £500, with recommendations. If you want help closing the gaps, the Annual Retainer is £200 a month (£2,400 for the year) and includes capacity building and SaaS. Capacity Building seats are also sold separately at £350.

Paid work is scoped in writing. We work with named owners inside the organisation, not with a slide deck that nobody has to live with.
